Trick or Treat

We dressed up as Mickey Mouse and friends. Rachel is Daisy, Reagan is Minnie Mouse (appropriate since her nickname is Mini), and Jake is Goofy. Jeff also wore Mouse ears and I wore a tacky Pluto hat. We went trick or treating in our neighborhood with Laura and her three children. Her husband is in Alaska and she didn't think she could handle all 3 of her kids by herself...well, it was hard enough for us to keep up with everyone having 3 adults. The girls stayed close to Abagail. They ran from house to house and it was hard to keep up with them. At first the boys were going in every direction at once, but after a few houses Jake and Jeremy (the two youngest) had a hard time keeping up - especially with heavy candy bags. Even Beau and Belle got in on the fun. Beau wore his cow outfit (has worn every year for over 5 years now), but Belle decided to not be a catepillar this year. Instead, to continue on with the farm theme, she wore Reagan's chicken costume from 3 years ago (size 9mo).

Play group party

We went to the Halloween party at playgroup today. (not quite the shin dig that it was last year, but they dressed up and got treats). The girls outnumber the boys this year. In fact, Jake was the only boy there today. I wanted to get a picture of all the girls (most dressed as princesses), but he didn't want to be left out. Their friends in the picture are Ellie, Erin and Jennifer.

Pumpkin Carving

Rachel, Reagan and Jake all took turns cleaning out a pumpkin this morning. We talked about how the junk in the pumpkin is like sin in your life and Jesus comes in to clean it out. Then I let Rachel draw a face on the pumpkin and carved it for her (a little tricky since it was such a small face). We talked about how you become a new creation when the sin is cleared out just like the pumpkin becoming a jack o lantern. We then put a light in it and talked about how we need to let our light shine for Jesus.

McMullan Church Service

After singing in church tonight, the kids came home and put on their own service. Pastor Reagan did the scripture reading from Luke (Salter) - a boy in her class. Listen carefully, "Jesus...once upon a time, lived in a far away land....Cinderella...the End". Rachel and Jake each do solos. Jake sings parts of Little me, my God is so Big and 2 b y 2 (see post below). Rachel gives her rendition of Jesus Loves me with the microphone Ms. Linda, the preschool choir director, gave them after singing tonight.

Preschool choir

Rachel, Reagan and Jake sang in front of church tonight. Jake didn't sing much (even less) during the actual performance so I am posting the video where they are practicing before the service. They first sing 2 by 2, then Little me, and My God is So Big. (Rachel is in the top, Reagan is in the middle row over to the right and Jake in the front row.)
