AWANA

Sunday nights the kid head to AWANA club at church. Rachel is in sparks this year and has learned John 3:16 already. Jake and Reagan are in Cubbies. After 2 years of teaching Cubbies, I am taking the year off and Jeff is teaching instead.

8th Anniversary

Jeff and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary a few days off on Sept 11 (just because that's when parents night out was). 8 years ago on this day we were supposed to go to Pearl Harbor - that never happened and I am still waiting for my return trip. We went to the new Melting Pot restaurant. That held me off for another year. (Reagan took these pictures of us. THe first one she cut our heads off, so we had her stand on the sofa to get the next one.)

Date Night

Jake and Mommy went on our first official date Sept 8. We went to see Sesame Street Live. Jake really enjoyed himself and ate a whole tub of popcorn by himself - just like any other man on a date would do. I even got a kiss goodnight. Just hope he doesn't think we'll be going to Sesame Street for our next date.

Halloween Preview

OK, so I haven't uploaded to the blog in over a month. Been busy working on a fundraising cookbook for MOPS - and finally sent it off today. Actually broke a record this month - I took less than 100 pictures. Amazing when I had been taking several hundred pictures each month. I guess that way I don't get as behind scrapbooking....Well, here are the Halloween costumes this year. Jake is going to be Buzz Lightyear, Reagan is Jessie from Toy Story II and Rachel will be wearing an unofficial Bullseye costume to stay in the Toy Story theme. We actually have friends that are also going as Buzz and Woody so that would be fun to go trick or treat with them again this year...."i'm Buzz!" "No, I'm Buzz", etc.

Chores

Jake's chore is to feed the dogs. The girls have to get dressed, brush teeth and hair, and make their beds in the morning. Then they switch off which one has to set the table and which one puts the laundry away.

John 3:16

One of the first verses Rachel has to say for Sparks (AWANA club) is John 3:16. We worked on it over the summer so she would be ready to say it.

Reading

Rachel is almost finished with the kindergarten hooked on phonics. Reagan is just starting to learn some sight words and phonics. They both like to look at books at night before we turn out the light.
