Strawberry Pickin

With school and all activities cancelled for the rest of the week due to the swine flu, we drove up near TN to the strawberry farm. This year we got down to business when it came to pickin strawberries. We didn't eat as we picked and filled up 2 buckets. Jake proved he knew his colors - don't pick the green ones.

The best part is eating them. Jake ate a couple of stems this year. He tried to avoid eating them, but if he happened to eat one, it didn't bother him. Fiber.

Hats

The girls were excited to get beach hats in the mail yesterday - via gymbucks. Jake doesn't usually like hats, but bcs his sisters were wearing them, he even decided to put on his clemson cap. It was a bad hair day afterall (last night was crazy hair night at AWANA so he had a lot of product in his hair). We later went for a haircut.

Poddy training

We started poddy training on Monday and surprisingly have done well. Looks like we are going to Chuck E Cheese on Friday.

Getting dressed

Most kids know how to undress before you actually want them to undress themselves. Not the case with Jake. We have had to teach him to undress and get dressed by himself. He still gets frustrated trying to take his shirt off most days and pitches a fit. Daddy is the only one that has the patience to deal with him. I'm too lazy and will just dress him....I guess that's why he thinks he can get away with it. Check out the new undies! No more diapers.

Garage sale

This was the first picture Jeff could get of the garage sale. He started setting up at 6am. He had only pulled a few things out on the driveway when the first people started showing up. By the time he got a picture, the crib, changing table, strollers, etc. were all gone. It was sad to see all the baby stuff go, but it just didn't need to take up attic space any longer.

Engineer

Jake actually set his place setting like this - with the fork and spoon on the napkin.

Easter Morning

Easter Morning

Egg Hunt

It was a cool afternoon, but everyone showed up (and stayed late). 16 kids at our house waiting to hunt eggs (1 other "big" kid was helping hide the eggs)
Jake knew what to do this year.

Look at all the eggs.

Rachel saw the egg in the tree and wanted it down. She didn't pay any attention to the NUMEROUS eggs on the ground around her.

Rachel dashed from here to there in search of eggs.
Reagan systematically collected the eggs that the other kids were overlooking.

Her bucket got full before all the eggs were gone.

Jake dumped his bucket out at one point (on purpose?), so the other kids helped fill it back up again.

Rachel admires her stash of candy.
Some of the girls worked on Easter crafts.

Buddies - Cloee and Jake.
Rachel and Reagan had fun hanging out with the big girls, Abigail and Samantha.

Tornado Warning

Instead of playing outside, we often spend our spring afternoons in the hall closet. How I wish we had a basement. At least this year, the kids think it is fun to get stuffed in the closet - especially when they get their leapsters and snacks.

Handy Manny

Ever since we went to Playhouse Disney Live, Jake has been a big fan of Handy Manny. Sometimes he will even put on a construction hat (not this time) - they call it the "pumpkin hat". Rachel was really hamming it up. "What can I fix for you now?"

Swimming Lessons

The girls started back up swimming lessons. Jake's class (for under 3) was cancelled. Hopefully, he can participate next time. Their friend, Jennifer, was in their class. Rachel took up just where she left off last year and started even "coaching" the other kids. "You can do it. Do you want me to show you how?"

At the car wash

With 70+ degree weather, we got the water table out for the season. The kids asked me to put bubbles in it so they could wash their car.

Popsicle face

How can you resist this face? I usually don't like kids with koolaid or popsicle stains on their face, but it was so cute on Jake, I didn't want to wash it off.

Decorating Easter Eggs

the girls had fun decorating Easter eggs (I strategically planned this while Jake was still napping so that's why he is not in any of the pictures - 2 year old boys and colored dye don't mix).

Playhouse Disney

We didn't want to spend $7 for popcorn, so Reagan snacked on her toes instead.

The girls folded themselves up in the chairs.

We relived our vacation at Disney World when Playhouse DIsney came to town. If only we could catch Jake's hotdog dance on camera....
