Splash Pad

We went with a group from MOPPETTS to Splash Pad in Decatur. After being told to take a bucket and catch some water, the girls headed right in. Jake was a little reserved. He tried to avoid the water as much as possible, but couldn't resist the "sword" he borrowed from a friend.

Splash Pad II

Botanical Garden cont

Jake had little interest other than the water fountains. Reagan, on the other hand, enjoyed exploring other aspects of the botanical garden, including the butterfly house, turtles, cockroaches, bumble bees, kaleidascopes, etc.

Botanical Garden

Rachel had a Frog class at the Botanical Garden so Jake and Reagan headed out to the fountain rocks to play.

In Daddy's shoes

Jake recently started trying on different shoes. He has trouble maneuvering in Daddy's big flip flops.

Friends

We have great neighborhood friends, Jennifer (age 4) and Melissa (21 mo).

Tantrum

This is just the end of a tantrum Jake had when the video was turned off.

Walking the Dogs

Jeff enjoys taking the kids out for a walk around the block after supper. Not only do the dogs need the exercise, but the kids often need to burn off some energy. Jake enjoys holding the leash - at least for a little while.

Petting Farm

Petting Farm II

We went to the petting farm on Saturday. The girls were most interested in holding the baby bunnies.

C is for Cookie

This title was chosen because Jake's favorite song is "C is for Cookie". We have to play it on the ipod every day. It was reported that he sang it all day at church. Really that is beside the point, but....

I made chocolate chocolate chip cookies for VBS. I got a little help. OF course I think Jake just wanted to eat the cookies. We used to always lick the spoon, but with salmonella and everything, you just can't have any fun anymore. Rachel tried them after they were cooked and liked them. (Reagan wanted me to make "day" cookies so I promised her we would do that another time.)

And some more VBS pics

The first picture is of Jake playing inside. Then I got a chance today to see Jake going to the playground - where his sister Rachel was. It was neat to see him recognize her and get excited. I also peeked in on Rachel and Reagan's classes during music time. Reagan was playing instruments and Rachel was doing the "bean bag boogie" where they dance with a bean bag on various body parts while trying not to drop it (one of my favorite songs from VBS last year). Here it is on her back. Then the bottom picture is at the preschool worship rally/puppet show. Rachel and Reagan are in the front row. This day Jake's class did not attend.

More VBS pics

The first picture is the hallway of the preschool building. It is transformed into a beach scene. I decorated my room - the craft cabana. I have a 20 minute break. During that time Jake is in music class in the "musical ocean" (which he of course loves), Reagan is eating snack and Rachel is in the missions room.

VBS

We have VBS this week at church. I am in charge of preschool craft. Of course the girls love it (Rachel is in the pink visor that she made in her 4 year old class), but Jake isn't really interested in craft. He says "all done" and then has a fit. He wants to go to snack.
